I suffered with insomnia for many years. As a child I remember watching a movie who had a main character who experienced insomnia. I didn’t know what it meant but it sounded cool. When I started experiencing it myself as an adult I realized it wasn’t cool at all. In fact, any sleep disturbance is debilitating, and any long standing sleep issues can be devastating to one’s health. That is why I am really interested in helping people eliminate any issues with sleep. In fact, I don’t think sleep is valued enough in the US. There’s an emphasis on “being able to function on less than more” sleep. I have helped many patients who’ve suffered with insomnia and sleep disturbances.
With the various technologies in my office I first evaluate the levels of stress you have within your body. Then, I look at how you sleep (i.e. your position while you sleep), your current mattress, your hydration level, your protein intake, and your daily routine for sleep amongst many things. I develop strategies with you to make the changes that you can to help reduce the stresses contributing to your insomnia. Ultimately, we work together to reduce the three T’s of stress in your life allowing your body to self-heal and self-regulate to achieve much improved sleep.
